Torralva Selected for Yale Innovation to Impact Fellowship
From the Press Release, Innovation to Impact at Yale Announces 2021 Short Course Cohort:
“Innovation to Impact at Yale (I2I) is a national program funded by The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) that provides education, mentoring, and seed funding to researchers and academics looking to commercialize their solutions to substance use disorder. I2I has announced the selection of 31 scientists accepted into the 4th cohort of the program.”
“Substance Use Disorders are a major public health problem that impacts society on multiple levels. The effects of addiction reach across the lifespan, across cultures, and across genders. Drug and alcohol use in the United States costs $1.45 trillion in economic loss and societal harm annually. This includes $578 billion in economic loss and $874 billion in societal harm through quality-of-life adjustment and premature loss of life.”
